KUALA LUMPUR, 22 May 2026 – A powerful Collaboration between Hope For Children Foundation (HFCF) , Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 (DSH2) , and Hospital Tunku Azizah (HTA) was formalised today, united by a single belief: no child should be denied surgery simply because their family cannot afford it.
The collaboration has already begun changing lives. Even before today’s signing ceremony at DSH2, multiple children had received life‑changing operations through the partnership. The event served both as a celebration of progress and a pledge to reach many more.
Leaders unite for children
The ceremony was graced by Mdm Hoo Ling Lee, Regional Chief Executive Officer of KPJ Healthcare Berhad, whose presence encouraged all present. Also in attendance were Dr. Nor Liyana Khairuddin, CEO of DSH2, who has been a steadfast advocate for the initiative, and representatives from BHEUU (Prime Minister’s Department), who witnessed the historic moment.
Speaking at the event, HFCF founder Michael KC Tan said: “We dream of a Malaysia where a child’s medical need is never a family’s financial crisis.”
Medical teams praised
Special recognition was given to Dr. Abdul Razak and En. Adenin, along with the entire DSH2 team, for their warmth, hospitality, and clinical excellence.
The brave doctors and surgeons from Hospital Tunku Azizah were also commended for their skill in mending not only bodies but also the anxious hearts of parents who dare to dream again.
Four children among first beneficiaries
Four children and their families sat among the guests – a living testament to the partnership’s impact. They are among the many who have already received surgery thanks to donors, volunteers, and supporters.
“The heartbeat of this movement”
The foundation extended its deepest gratitude to its donors, volunteers, and media partners, describing them as “the heartbeat of this movement”. Without them, the statement added, “hope remains just a word.”
Looking ahead
The tripartite agreement aims to expand surgical access for underprivileged children born with birth defects. Organisers say this day is both a celebration of children already healed and a promise that many more will follow.

The parents are overjoyed. The children are healing. We are reminded once again why we do this: every child deserves a healthy future.
To our community: We are proud to share this news with you. This is your victory, too. Thank you for making hope a reality.
At Hope for Children Foundation, we have the profound privilege of collaborating with individuals who don’t just do a job—they live a calling.
This is a tribute to the extraordinary paediatric doctors and surgeons of Hospital Tunku Azizah.
During our recent meeting to strengthen our “Bridging Hope” partnership, we were reminded once again of the quiet dedication that defines their work. Behind every procedure and every consultation lies a depth of expertise matched only by a profound sense of compassion.
These remarkable professionals are the steadfast guardians of childhood. They work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to ensure that every child is not just treated, but truly cared for. Their precision in the operating theatre and their empathy at the bedside are what make transformative healing possible.
We are in awe of their commitment and are immensely proud to work alongside an institution that so perfectly embodies its guiding principle every single day: Precision in Surgery. Compassion at Heart.
Thank you to the entire HTA team for your partnership and for being true champions for Malaysia’s children.
