The Gift of Healing: How Elective Surgery Transforms Lives
In Malaysia, 1 in 70 children are born with a birth defect. Imagine the pain, the fear, the uncertainty that these families face. These innocent children deserve a chance at a normal life, a chance to chase their dreams. But without access to vital surgeries and medical support, their futures remain uncertain. Your donation can be a lifeline, offering hope and healing to these children and their families. Please, give generously and help us build a brighter future for our Malaysian most vulnerable children.
Undescended Testes
Boys with UDT were also more likely to have other congenital abnormalities of the external genitalia. If left untreated, this condition may lead to infertility or increase the risk of testicular cancer later in life. Treatment typically involves surgery (orchidopexy) to move the testicle(s) into the correct position.Â
Early intervention, ideally before the child turns one year old, is essential for optimal outcomes. Your donation can be a lifeline, offering hope and healing to these children and their families. Please, give generously and help us build a brighter future for our Malaysian most vulnerable children
Inguinal Hernia
In severe cases, a hernia can become strangulated, which is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical attention. Hernias in children are caused by a failure of the abdominal wall to close properly before birth, leading to a bulge, often noticeable in the groin or scrotum. Herniotomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that resolves the issue and prevents complications like bowel obstruction.
Unilateral Herniotomy: Performed when the hernia affects one side.
Bilateral Herniotomy: Both sides are repaired
Cleft lip or Palate
A cleft lip or palate is a congenital condition where there is an opening or split in the lip and/or roof of the mouth. It can affect feeding, speech, and dental development if untreated.
Cleft lip can cause a number of side effects, including feeding difficulties, hearing problems, and dental issues.
The need is great, but our collective power is greater. This is the work of many hands and one shared heart.
